I’m all set to ride the Prudential London 46 on Sunday 30th July, but thanks to bouncing down the road a few weeks back I need to see if I can make it round the course in time.
So this Saturday (22nd July) I’m off to visit my chums at The Oxford Blue which is just over 30 miles away.
I will be leaving from the old centre of Basingstoke outside the Willis Museum (which was the town hall) at noon when the bar opens at The Oxford Blue.
If I can get there before the last orders bell rings, then I should be able to go for the big ride the following weekend. After all, if you are going to cycle to a pub, a good incentive to get there is to be sure you can get a cool drink before they close!
